We Are Revamping How Restore Is Done
When a client's server goes down, the time their business stays offline depends on your restore options.
With the new release, system backups are included in regular local, cloud, or hybrid backup jobs in the central management, so they are no longer a separate tool available only via the local client.
For recovery, you can restore a full system directly to a Hyper-V VM to keep a client operational while rebuilding, recover a system backup straight from the cloud to new hardware, and perform restores over multiple adjustable streams.
The World of Data Protection
One Backup Tool Was Never the Plan
In a survey conducted by Data Protection Matters in spring 2026, only 7% of the 440 IT leaders polled said they use a single backup solution. The average was 2.8.
In a recent Wasabi blog post, analyst Jason Buffington explains why this is normal. SaaS adoption and specialized endpoints change faster than any single backup tool can keep up with, so the backup stack must change with the environment. Buffington says the real risks lie elsewhere, such as retention data tied to software you've stopped paying for, recovery plans rarely tested, and restored servers that lack DNS, identity, and IP configuration.
If using multiple backup tools is standard practice, the important decision is choosing the right option for each client server and the desired outcome.
Our guide walks you through that process and covers what to protect, how changes are captured, where copies should be stored, and if the restore time meets the client's RTO. The guide also includes a vendor questionnaire that helps you determine your cost per client before signing.
5 Backup Security Checks MSPs Should Run Before Attackers Do
A business with functioning backups has no reason to pay a ransom, and attackers are fully aware of this fact. According to Sophos, attackers targeted the backups in 94% of ransomware attacks.
Mike Andrews shares the five backup security questions our team addresses with partners when reviewing their customers' backup setups, as well as what a realistic recovery time looks like.
